Kul Gautam, former President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu, presented a video of the April 25th Nepal earthquake and discussed Rotary relief efforts for victims. Efforts have focused on establishing temporary shelters with tarps and tents with an urgency to build permanent buildings before the coming rainy season. Another area of effort is in providing reconstruction and rehabilitation of earthquake-resistant school buildings. The need is enormous and support is organized to adapt to the changing needs of the various communities.

The Rotary Club of Kathmandu Midtown plans to move ahead with its partners in District 7620 with training programs for teachers. These programs are long-term and assist teachers and students in the remote northwest districts of Nepal.
