The Fellowship of Rotarian curlers had the honor of hosting the 2012 World Championships in our Rotary District 7620 at Laurel, Maryland.  The International Curling Fellowship of Rotarians has been holding this gathering every two years since gaining its Rotary International status in 1972.  The countries that participate in this curling competition include Canada, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, South Africa, Scotland, Sweden, England, and the United States.

This was the first time ever that the mid-Atlantic area of the United States has hosted this international competition, and the Rotary Club of Capitol Hill was part of this effort.  Club members volunteered their time to prepare meals and host these visiting athletes. It was a fun event for both the international curlers and the members of the Rotary Club of Capitol Hill.
