Q: How many clubs are there?

There more than 31,000 clubs made up of about 1.2 million members in 167 countries.

Q: How do I join?

A: |
You must be proposed for membership by a Rotarian. If you are interested in joining, we encourage you to come visit our club and get to know more about Rotary and the Capitol Hill Club.

Q: Are there certain qualifications to join?

Yes, Rotary is based on a classification system where each member must spend at least 60% of his/her
time doing that particular classification. Also, there must generally be an open classification in that field.

Q: What are the expectations if I join?

You are expected to maintain an attendance of at least 60%. You are expected to be involved in the club's
activities and participate in the community service aspect of the club. You are expected to keep current
your annual dues and to contribute to the Rotary Foundation regularly.

Q: How often are the meetings?

Each club meets once a week. The Rotary Club of Capitol Hill meets
Tuesdays at 7:15 AM
at Station Grill - Union Station West Hall located at 50 Massachusetts Ave., N.E., Washington, DC 20002.

Rotary is the world's first service club and was founded in February, 1905.

Yes. Members must maintain an attendance percentage of at least 60%.

No. Members are given classifications based upon their profession and only one member may occupy each classification.
This is to ensure that the club is comprised of a variety of members with a diversity of occupations.

No. There is no age limitation to join Rotary.
The average age of our members is currently 48 years old.
