Patrick Kibbe and Jessica Westerman of the DC chapter of the American Constitution Society spoke to club members about educating youth on Constitutional principles and their practical application to every day life in the U.S. They shared efforts to educate 3rd, 4th and 5th graders on how the Constitution affects citizenry and its importance in not only American history, but its present and future.
Rotarians engaged in discussions on how our Rotary initiatives can and do overlay in areas that involve the 1st, 6th and 14th Amendments (right to free speech, right to a speedy and public trial, and right to due process). There are areas to collaborate to ensure Peace, Education and Improved Living initiatives are maximized. Thank you Patrick and Jessica for a lively discussion! Look forward to future discussions.
