Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) kicked off its 2019 conference on February 16, 2019 at the 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase, MD for participating 7th, 8th and 9th graders. Focus was on building participants' confidence, leadership skills and networking abilities with emphasis on community service opportunities.
The program included opening ceremonies, low ropes and group project. Brandon Benavides of NBC 4 Washington spoke to the group of his experiences and learning of leadership elements. Awards were also given out at closing ceremonies. For more details and photos of the event, see
