Deputy Director of The Solar Foundation, Pari Kasotia, presented key elements of the solar and alternative energy industry including barriers to adoption. With a strong business acumen, Pari related her expertise in clean energy markets, energy efficiency, and biofuels to ongoing challenges to the solar industry, which includes availability of operational and installation expertise to areas throughout the US. The Solar Foundation provides an annual assessment of the solar industry, the Solar Jobs Census , which tracks the industry employment at the national, state, and local levels. It is the first and most authoritative national benchmark for solar jobs research, and serves a critical role in understanding the impact of solar energy development in the United States. Since 2010, annual updates to the Census have charted the dramatic growth in the U.S. solar workforce.
