Rotary International Global Grant Scholar for District 7620 (Virtual Meeting)

Rotary District 7620's Global Grant Scholar is Jaclyn Grace, who is currently pursuing a master's degree in development studies at Oxford University. Most recently, Jaclyn lived and worked for four years in Washington, D.C. at a leading international development organization in their West and Central Africa region. Her work included supporting the $134 million ACCELERE!  Activity 1 education project, co-funded by USAID and DfID, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Jaclyn also worked on the U.S. Department of State “Countering Violent Extremism Capacity Building in Mauritania” project, which brought together traditional leaders, government, and community influencers to develop and transmit locally resonant, moderate messages and speak out against violent extremism. Originally from Niskayuna, NY, Jaclyn graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with a dual B.A. degree in International Comparative Studies and French Studies.

Jacyln will share with the club her experience serving as a Rotary Global Grant scholar.

Interact (Virtual Meeting)

Marilyn Cruz, a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Washington, D.C. will speak to the Capitol Hill Rotary Club about Interact and the process involved for establishing an Interact club. Interact is Rotary International's service club for young people ages 12 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance.
