Rotary District 7620 offers four (4) Post Secondary Scholarships of $5,000 to scholars residing in District 7620. District 7620 included the geographic area of Washington, DC and Central and South Western Maryland. 


Applicants must be enrolling in an accredited U.S. college, university or technical school for 2012-2013.  Funds will be sent to the academic institution of winning scholars to cover tuition, room, board and books.


Instructions for Applicants


April 24, 2012: Interested students should complete the form on page 2 and submit it, along with the required documents, to their local Rotary Club for review. Completed applications and supporting documents must be received by the club no later than April 24, 2012. 


April 24-30: Individual Rotary Clubs will evaluate applicants and choose one finalist to forward to the District Rotary Scholarship Committee.


May 12, 2012: Scholarship finalists will be interviewed by the District Scholarship Committee.


May 15, 2012: Scholarship recipients will be selected and notified.


Completed applications must include the following:

1.      A completed Application for Rotary District 7620 Scholarship (page 2 of this document)

2.      Essay explaining your educational objectives and subsequent occupational goals (300-500 words)

3.      A summary of your extracurricular and community activities, work experience, awards and honors received

4.      An official copy of your high school or college transcript

5.      A copy of any test scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL) used to qualify for admission at a Post Secondary institution
