This week is an opportunity for high school students to attend the 2018 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program from February 17-19. The Rotary Club of Capitol Hill is sponsoring two students to attend this conference in Chevy Chase, MD.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where high school students develop skills as leaders while having fun and making connections. The benefits of the program include enabling students to connect with leaders in the community and around the world to:
  • Build communication and problem-solving skills
  • Discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader in your school or community
  • Learn from community leaders, inspirational speakers, and peer mentors
  • Unlock your potential to turn motivation into action
  • Have fun and form lasting friendships
This year's program is a three-day leadership program (Feb. 17-19) will be held at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, 7100 Connecticut Ave., Chevy Chase, MD 20815 and will include overnight accommodations for the students. The program will focus on leadership elements and community service opportunities.
